In the first quarter of 2021, UK consumers showed significant interaction with leading delivered meal kits and specialty foods applications on the iOS platform. Data provided by Sensor Tower presents an interesting landscape of app performance during this period.

HelloFresh: Meal Kit Delivery observed a peak in downloads during the first week of January with approximately 13K downloads before maintaining a relatively stable trend, closing the quarter with around 10K downloads in the final week. Weekly active users showed a steady increase from 103K to a high of 134K in the latter half of March, before a slight decline to 126K.

Gousto experienced its highest downloads at the start of January with over 6K, but saw a gradual decrease to just 4K by the end of March. The weekly active users for Gousto remained fairly consistent, with a slight increase from 22K to 26K in February, then hovering around the 26K mark for the rest of the quarter.

Vivino: Buy the Right Wine showed a varied pattern in downloads, starting at 3K, dipping to around 1.5K in early March, and then rising to over 2K by the quarter's end. Revenue for Vivino fluctuated, starting at $18K and experiencing a significant spike to $65K mid-March before stabilizing at $47K. Weekly active users saw a drop from 27K at the beginning of the quarter to 15K in late February, and then a rebound to 17K by the end of March.

The Midnight Delivery downloads had an early peak in January with over 2K, but this trend did not sustain, as downloads fell to under 1K by March. Unfortunately, there is no available data on weekly active users for The Midnight Delivery.

Mindful Chef saw downloads begin at roughly 1.4K in the last week of December, peaking shortly afterwards at 1.5K in the first week of January. After a noticeable dip to 639 in late February, a significant rise occurred in the final week of March, reaching over 1.5K downloads. Similar to The Midnight Delivery, there are no figures on weekly active users for Mindful Chef.
